GNASSM 13 Steps Program
For 2026 General Elections
- OAEC submits report to the National Executive Council (May 7, 2026): The OAEC will present the GNASSM Election 2026 Framework Brochure Report to the NEC for consideration and approval.
- OAEC meets with NEC, Patrons, and District Chairmen/Secretaries (July 6, 2026): The meeting will cover report validation, publicity, and other business at Mawuli Hotel, Obuasi.
- OAEC meeting with the Electoral Commission: September 4, 2026.
- Media / Extended OAEC Launch: October 16, 2026.
- Opening of nominations (online and offices, 3 days): October 19–21, 2026.
- Submission of nominations for Zonal/District Elections (District Offices): October 22, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.
- Vetting and balloting of Zonal/District aspirants (District Office): October 26–28, 2026.
- Zonal Elections (Zonal Centres): November 13, 2026.
Zonal Executive Elections will be held simultaneously in each zone by universal simple majority suffrage. A three-member District Electoral Sub-Committee, headed by the District Chairman and supported by Zonal Executives, will supervise the elections organized by the OAEC.
- District Elections (District Centres): November 20, 2026.
District Executive Elections will be held simultaneously at each District Centre by universal simple majority suffrage. The OAEC will organize the elections under the supervision of the Electoral Commission.
- Submission of NEC nominations (Headquarters): November 24, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.
- Vetting and balloting of NEC aspirants (Headquarters): December 1–2, 2026.
- National Executive Council Elections: December 21, 2026.
The elections, organized by the OAEC and supervised by the Electoral Commission, will be held at all district centres. Kumasi will be a collation centre.
- Swearing-in of the National Executive Council: December 29, 2026, at Miklin Hotel, Kumasi. The NEC will be sworn into office by a sitting High Court judge.
